The park was born from the desire not to lose the history of mining and metallurgy activities that have occurred in the area of the Metalliferous Hills of Grosseto for about three millennia and which have influenced the determination of their cultural landscape. The protection of industrial and mining sites decommissioned, integrated to the remarkable natural resources and shining examples of architecture and medieval art, existing abundantly in the area, make the Colline Metallifere an itinerary for a different tourism. The main theme is the discovery of traces of the mines and work underground. Inevitably, in the journey through these lands, they overlap an extraordinary nature and evidences of very interesting culture.
